My friend, who lives in Anchorage, often has brown bear, on her deck and an occasional moose in the yards.

The most I ever see are skunks. possums and squirrels &, maybe, when I drive toward the ocean, a deer might appear.RNSANEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02841873957894861725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-406042802207115346.post-32625681054405046252014-09-12T16:52:33.934-04:002014-09-12T16:52:33.934-04:00I would have gotten that wrong. I'm guessing evening as the deer is out and about and there appears to be a red shift in the light. Or am I wrong [again]?Secondary Roadshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05116234285533139701noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-406042802207115346.post-23685675079702148132014-09-12T10:36:56.884-04:002014-09-12T10:36:56.884-04:00This must be the time to see plenty of deer. This must be the time to see plenty of deer.rainfield61https://www.blogger.com/profile/01334864123466123667noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-406042802207115346.post-75978248315559781562014-09-12T04:49:22.242-04:002014-09-12T04:49:22.242-04:00From far away it does look like 4 but that 5th one...From far away it does look like 4 but that 5th one is obvious from the right angleAnnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12886333496997952719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-406042802207115346.post-79082983843996845942014-09-11T22:17:02.570-04:002014-09-11T22:17:02.570-04:00I grew up in the West and learned to hunt mule dee...I grew up in the West and learned to hunt mule deer. Imagine my confusion when I moved to the Midwest and found that tines are counted differently! The whitetail tines here are counted as you counted, and so you have a five pointer. I learned (mule) it would have been a two-point buck, or a stickler might say a 2x3. What is called an eight-point here would be a four-point in the Rockies. Of course a mule's antlers grow differently from a white's, too.vanillahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11978025976591113499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-406042802207115346.post-4345056108642881652014-09-11T20:54:52.287-04:002014-09-11T20:54:52.287-04:00Beautiful!
