Just a little piece of railroad memorabilia today. I see this mile marker all the time when I go into Scottville, but these are the kinds of things I end up never taking pictures of, because it seems as if they will always be there. And then, one day, they are gone. So, I took its picture.
This is a mile marker from when this was the Pere Marquette Railroad. It indicates that there are 129 miles (by rail) to Saginaw. These are the tracks that are now Marquette Rail, and that go in back of my house.

I don't recall seeing a mile marker like that on the train line near the town where I grew up. I think it was a C & O line, but I'm not sure about that. Anyway, it's good to document those "things that will always be there," because they probably won't.
