Rainy

I'll be honest, I had a hard time thinking of much about today that gave it a sense of quality. It rained all day. That doesn't necessarily depress me, but the snow has pretty much disappeared. So it's just muddy and slushy... not great for walking, skiing, snowshoeing, or anything. My mouth hurts, I didn't get a lot done, and the cat bit me (she's old and cranky... sounds familiar).

I did learn that one of those funny combination words, plench, is real. It's a tool that combines features of pliers and a wrench, developed for astronauts.

But Maggie and I went out twice in the rain and looked for something interesting. I do like the raindrops clinging to the boxelder twig. So that's what I'll share today.

  1. i too like raindrops clinging to leaves and branches. and i like your picture, and to think despite the trail being muddy and slushy you still went for a walk, that is great. hope you feel a lot better now.

  2. Our snow had gone to leave behind mud. But now, today, we have had yet more snow! I am longing for Spring.

  3. You know what's worse than snow? Snow meltage. Yuck. Sorry the cat bit you--we've got an old gal like that too. We call her the no-pet because unlike normal pets, you aren't allowed to touch her....according to her.

I hope you are feeling better soon! I hope they didn't use the plench on your teeth!

  4. We had lots of rain yesterday which pretty much took care of the snow, which is nice. Lost a few limbs from the trees. What followed though was a great rainbow.

Stopin and see the pics (they're on my blogger blog), though I'd love to see ya over at http://stitchinglifetogether.today.com too.

  5. I was tempted to go out in the rain, but every time I would begin to get serious about it, it would rain even harder. Any cats I ever had specialized in biting and scratching.

  6. Hi betchai- Unless it's really, really nasty, Maggie and I take at least one walk. We both feel better when we do.

Rumpleteazer- It's too early here to get excited about Spring... about 2 months to go, despite the recent thaw.

Lin- oh, yes, you know about not touching the old kitty. The thing is, she had been sleeping cuddled up beside me for an hour- very unlike her, and then I tried to move her a little bit. It's actually quite a bad bite. I'm watching it pretty closely.

Hi Sandy- You are the one with the candy corn afghan blog! Nice rainbow too!

And Ratty- I managed to slip out between the heaviest rain. Get well soon!
