Gray
Well, the day was gray, so I decided to run with it. My big plans to dry clothes outside one last time this fall were foiled by the incorrect weather forecast. It was warm, but instead of a low chance of scattered showers it rained most of the day. The joke was on me... around 11 am the sun came out and I hung out the clothes. At 3 pm, you should have seen me dash to bring them in! (They are now hung on my winter rack.)
Gray bark and gray lichen, but the field looking surprisingly bright in the background.
The next surprise is how white the reindeer moss (really a lichen) looks when the pictures are compared. I always think of it as gray.
And, one little friend who didn't want to hold still. Rainfield wasn't here to talk to him for me.
Hi! Just stumbled across your blog. I think it's fascinating! I think I found you because of your writing (I'm blogging a novel)... but regardless, I'm glad I got the opportunity to stop by.
ReplyDeleteMaybe rainfield will write a book on communicating with spiders. I try to stay clear of them since I've been bitten by them twice, causing a terrible cellulitis and two weeks on antibiotics each time.
ReplyDeleteHold on, I am here.
ReplyDeleteYikes, that looks like a big spider.
ReplyDeleteJoan takes a gray day and a camera and creates a beautiful pictorial essay.
ReplyDeleteThe {strike}itsy-bitsy{/strike} big humongous spider went up the water spout ...
ReplyDeleteWho needs to do laundry anyway? We would much rather see and hear about your adventures.
ReplyDeleteLove the shots..the spider was just the right touch!
Hugs,
Jackie:-)
The reindeer moss looks like delicate lace. Is it really that pretty in real life?
ReplyDeleteHi Novelist- Thanks for stopping by! Fascinating, crazy, one of those words!
ReplyDeleteCarmen- Most of them won't bite unless they get trapped under clothes or blankets or something with you. But, it sounds like maybe you are especially allergic.
rainfield! Oh, good. He wasn't nearly as big as he looks in the picture, are really didn't expect very much. But he was in a hurry.
Pk- Nope, it wasn't all that big- less than 1/2 inch across, even with the legs.
Dennis- not humungous, no water spout. Just average, and a box. Maggie wasn't even impressed.
Jackie- I know... laundry is such a bore. But, even I can only put it off so long. Was really hoping for the outside drying. Oh well.
Ivy- It really is beautiful. Maybe I should do a post about it, all by itself.
Soon all we will have is Gray and Grey LOL.. Have a great Thanksgiving
