The conference is so much about friends and community! However, there are a few people who are extra special.
You've met Irene many times in the past, but her close friend, Lois, lives in Arizona. We only get to see her at NCTA conference time. I particularly like this one of her with Irene's dogs Sandy (red) and Pearl (white).
On Saturday, the hike choices were too long for Irene (recovering from being very ill last year) and Marie (who has a sore knee), so the four of us just took our own hike on the Battle Creek Linear Park, which is also part of the NCT. It's a great walk through the city beside the Kalamazoo River. We just did a little bit at the end where the dogs could get wet. Did they like it? You guess.
Here are Lois (top), Marie, and Irene.
In the evening, the main program was the annual awards. Irene received the Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honor given by the NCTA! Not bad, eh? (And well-deserved)
