Today's fun was getting to watch some bufflehead ducks getting ready to make some new little buffleheads. If I'd seen the females at all before I didn't recognize them. These pictures aren't great, but it was quite a show.
There were eight ducks together making a huge racket squawking and splashing. Between the splashing events there was some flat water chasing.

You can see a female with less white. This is the best photo I got of one.

Finally, they flew away. End of story for a while, anyway.
