Yes, it's the northern shoveler duck. And he's not alone. She's not too distinctive, but you can certainly tell what she is from the big bill.

Maybe they will homestead there!
That is a large shovel. Reckon she'll use that for building the foundation, or just the nest?
To all- my real birder guy says they rarely nest in Michigan, but I will keep watching anyway. Just in case.
