Yesterday I was doing assignments all day, and saw mute swans on Stony Lake. They are so common (and alien) I hardly photograph them anymore. However, this is a slightly different view. Instead of a group of swimming cygnets, these are huddled around mom on land.
Mom was wary, but stayed on land even though I came about 30 feet from her. I'm thinking she's pretty used to humans. She was at a small park. You can practically see the disinterest in the faces of the cygnets.
They went on about their business- grooming each other.
Tomorrow... should be some fun in my future.

Mother swan.
Momma and babies are so cute together!
Glynis- Welcome back! I'm partial to the native ones, but they are all stately.
rainfield- Yes, she is having mother's days for quite a few weeks.
Libby- Slightly more interaction than just swimming
Ann- I know, they really aren't that ugly until they get to be teenagers!
They are so beautifully snowy white. I love how they huddle so close to mommy and each other.
