This post is perhaps less inspiring than some, but when a helicopter flew over my back yard this past week, I couldn't pass it up for H.
What was it doing? I have no idea. It buzzed across the field and out of view over the cemetery.
You may be wondering why I think that "Porcupine Tree" is an H entry. Perhaps you even think I've sort of lost my phonetic bearings. Not at all. Take a look.
I've showed porcupine trees before. I looked back, and I've showed you four others, but only one of those times did I see the porcupine, and I couldn't get a picture. No critter this time either, although there's clear evidence that it's occupied (a fresh pile of poop at the bottom of the hollow tree).

Oh, I love finding letters in nature!
How very fascinating~
Great H...did you ever find out about the helicopter?!
Nice to meet you~
That is a terrific H.
That's the most innovative "H" post I've seen yet!
So love that tree!!!! Great H post :D
Even the trees are in the spirit of the challenge!
That is such a cool tree shape!
I was wondering how you picked a porcupine tree for "H", ha, ha.
This is very cool. Love the tree! And, I'd be writing about a helicopter in my backyard too, great pics.
I like the idea of a porcupine tree! Maybe the helicopter had heard about a murder in mule swamp! ;0
Enjoyed the post about the tree frog too!
How cool is the porcupine tree!

What a FANTASTIC tree! Great H.
The tree is amazing-nice fit for the H day. We don't see helicopters often, and when we do, they're usually LifeFlight which makes me worry about whoever is on it.
I really liked your picture of the porcupine tree. I'm going to have to follow the A Diversity of Wildlife link after I post this comment to find out more.
I also liked the story of the Reluctant Prince(ss) you told on Sunday. The pictures were what made it for me :)
Love it! :)
Thanks for stopping by.

Hello! Stopping by for the A to Z Challenge. Enjoyed your post. That tree is a great representative of the letter H in nature.

PUTTING WORDS DOWN ON PAPER
Oh, that porcupine tree is lovely! The helicopter is attractive, too, but not nearly as nice. :) Thanks for stopping by my blog! Just thought I'd return the favor.
I want that tree - looking over the comments I guess we all do but I'd like to request it NOT come with the fresh pile at the bottom of the hollow there :)

the h tree is very unique as well.
tUcKeR is afraid of helicopters. they really scare him...
and he never saw Blue Thunder....
Nice shot of the chopper...every one I take is blurry :). That is a most interesting tree, I have never heard of or seen one of them.
Oh! It really IS a porcupine tree! Do they just sit up in the tree and poop??
That tree is so cool!
I'm a fan of the band Porcupine tree. That's as far as my expertise goes lol
I've flown in a helicopter once...in beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park in Alberta, Canada...gorgeous. I didn't spot a porcupine tree, though...amazing H.
