Progress Report

Is guilt a valid motivator? Currently not popular as a theme. However, sometimes I think it works pretty well. It may be officially spring, but if I keep going, Loretta may be able to wear this before the weather catches up with the calendar. She's coming tomorrow to check the sleeve length.

Then just a little more knitting, some sewing of seams and tucking in of ends!

Project Progress

I've recently given you a couple of teasers about projects I have started. I'll be nice and let you know how they are going (and pat myself on the back for not ignoring them).

But first, can you believe this for a project? I am two days past a blogoversary. I forgot to check the date until too late, but this is post 1823, 5 years and two days after beginning My Quality Day. Thanks to so many of you who have been traipsing along with me on my life's journeys.

Just a couple of days ago, I teased you with some pictures of colored shapes. Here's how that is going. I'm covering the icky, dirty paint behind the kitchen counters. Here are some of the squares just taped in place (and not trimmed to fit) to see how it looks. I'll tell more about how I'm doing it as it gets closer to completion. I did glue some of it in place tonight, and I'm pleased with the result.

And that knitting project I started in Alabama? It's a sweater for Loretta. I've made good progress, but the weather is cooling. I'd better get cracking on that one, because I bet she will want it soon. She's hired for substitute teaching, and needs some things that look better than jeans and sweatshirts.

Just a Totally Fun Day

Except for a few errands, we did all fun things (except we kept having a forgetful Monday, but no major consequences resulted).
We bought yarn for a new project. Here's what I got done today. I'll keep you guessing for a bit yet, as to the goal.

Then we went for a walk on a trail by the Tennessee River. One end of it goes part way across the river on a former railroad bridge. It is the oldest river bridge in Alabama! However, it only goes to an island any more. It was the Memphis & Charleston Railroad, which became Norfolk & Southern. Originally, the lower part that is now the foot trail was a toll road. The train ran on the upper deck.

Then, we had to treat ourselves to Yogurt Mountain, and this time I remembered to take a picture of more than the spoon! They had pumpkin spice flavor for fall, and it was awesome.

Loretta had a meeting in the evening but after that we went to the home of friends Annette and Randy (see yesterday's post), and watched the end of the Texas Rangers' ball game, and then... we played Mexican dominoes until after 2 am! What fun.

I'm too tired to be cute and tell you funny stories, but we had a great time.
