Indian Summer 2011

Today was just about as perfect a day as you could wish for this side of heaven. It was everything Indian Summer should be. I was out driving around doing work and stopping all too often to take pictures. I'll have to take some time off my work log!

I just started taking videos, and wanted to make one that was really special to show off the day. Most of the images in this were taken today. All were taken this fall.

As things turned out, it took about an hour per minute of video to put it together. It's not nearly as good as I would like, but it's not bad. The music is really repetitive, but I had to find something that was free. I like the new options on Windows Video Maker that came with Windows 7 Pro. It took me a while to figure out how to get some of the things that I knew how to do in the XP version, but I'm getting there. I'd REALLY like a serious video making program.

I really hope you'll watch it. For those of you who've said that you'd like to experience autumn here, this is a pretty good sampling.

Work For the Night is Coming

I was still tired, but got sucked into a creative project this morning. And Om fell asleep after the paper route, so we didn't make it to church. So I spent a bunch of time on this, but, hey, I was having fun.

OK, here's the story. Every Sunday, I try to post the words to a hymn at Off the Sanctuary Wall, and find a video of the song that I like. Well, this week, there were very few videos of the song I chose, and most of those were so off-key that I really couldn't bear them. So... I decided that I could do better than that. Don't worry, I'm not headed for America's Got Talent, but I can live with the result.

The inspiration for choosing this song was my week of hard work- very satisfying, if tiring. And since this is about all I did today... it's what I have to share.

Learning To Use Windows Movie Maker

Well, I can't prove it to you yet, but I learned how to use the web cam on my computer, edit a video and save it. For now my goals are humble; I just want to make videos for some of my product reviews at Shared Reviews. But they have issues with uploading sometimes, and I can't get it to upload, so you can't see it. Don't worry, this one's not up for an Oscar. But it's a modest beginning. And by the way, my mom would have been 99 today if she were alive!
