In the Rain

Out doing cases in light rain all afternoon. But I was still able to enjoy lots of autumn beauty, and bring some home for you.

The rain falling in the lake softens the reflections. This is Wolf Lake.

Followed by an unnamed pond, more like just a puddle. I was actually trying to picture some ducks in the foreground, but when I looked at the picture I realized the background was prettier, so I cropped it.

Even on a muted day, there was an occasional spot of light coming through the branches.

Finally, of course, you knew I'd bring you a country road.

One Area Done

I couldn't get the lawnmower started this spring. Thus, we did weed patch this year.

But, for $16, last week I bought a great stress reliever in the form of a hand weed whacker. I've got one section of lawn hacked down.

I have no idea how much I'll be able to complete before rain, wind and snow knock everything flat. But I figure anything I can accomplish will improve things for next season.

And we're having a thunderstorm right now.

Music!

This morning was the monthly performance of the bell choir I'm in. After weeks of practice on this one (It is Well with My Soul), with hardly a perfect run through (seemed like someone always messed up... often ME) we did a flawless performance! Thank you, Lord! Not that being perfect is always the right goal, but because the music may have been a blessing to someone, and it's more likely to be so if wrong notes aren't grating on the ears.

Went to church again this evening with my friends GayLynne and Paula. Lots of music, which makes me very happy. In fact, GayLynne sang one of the solos, which is why I went.

Afterwards I went to their house and we talked for a while. Nice day!

The Golden Year

The predominant color this autumn is gold. There are few of the bright reds for some reason.

Just to round it out, the sunset Thursday night was golden too.

Too tired to say anything meaningful. Slept poorly after work then worked four more hours doing cases today. I have to be functional tomorrow so it will be bedtime soon.

Autumn- Outside and In

All the outside pictures were taken yesterday. The sun sure made for lovely colors. However, it wasn't as nasty as predicted today, and although it didn't lend itself to pretty photos, I got some more yard work done.

Five Mile Road, coming around a bend.

I like this one. I know the trunk and branches are a different and dead tree in front of the one with leaves, but I could imagine that I was seeing both on the same tree.

I love how the sunlight made this patch of grass glow.

Today... yard work, and a big pot of minestrone soup. Dinners for a week and some in the freezer!
