Yesterday's Storm

storm clouds

It was in interesting day. My laptop is in the repair shop- some sort of power issue, they think. Life sans laptop is interesting. I can't make myself sit at the desktop for the entire day and evening. Plus, it has issues of its own. However, I did manage to get it to recognize the USB port tonight. So, you get to see some pictures from just before the storm last night

The first two are the storm front that was just about to hit us. The view is toward the north.

Here's the really odd thing. The clouds were reflecting the light in such a way that the sky to the west was all dark, but the clouds in the east were all lit up. So we got to see sunset in the east! It was all very beautiful, and then we got a little rain.

The up side to being separated from the computer is that I've been working on things that don't need the computer. There are always things that need to be completed. I mowed some grass, and went for a swim. I've been swimming almost every day for the past couple of weeks. Today I just felt as if I could have kept swimming forever.

I love a good storm. Your sundown pictures are lovely.

We experience close to 30 storms in a year. For August, September and October, the average is about 2 to 3 typhoons a month. I've never really taken the time to take photos during stormy weather. I find them the perfect excuse to do nothing but sleep.

I am seriously thinking about swimming.

Hi, it's been awhile. I like you have been busy this summer. I love the Stormy Sky. It always reminds me of my younger years. We have storms yesterday evening as well. Have been going swimming also. Getting ready for another trip down south. Have a great day. Hope you get your Lap Top back soon.

Beautiful, but the storm swung way around to the north and east of us. Sure wish we'd get some rain. It's been, oh, I can't remember how long...

We could use a little rain here. We got a few raindrops earlier but that was it.
Now that I have a desktop and a laptop I can't imagine going back to just the desktop full time. I like the convenience of being able to move around the house with the computer.

the clouds before, during and after a storm always make it very dramatic, such as in your pictures.

What if you can bring me a little storm.

It is very hazy over here.

Emma- they can be refreshing!

teecup- we've been having a lot of thunderstorms this year, but not that many!

John- great way to cool the body and soothe the mind

hi Auntie E- yes, we do get busy. I think the extreme heat has sent a lot of people to the water. I don't know how people in the south are standing it.

vanilla- wow- hope you get rain soon

ann- I clearly am unwilling to sit in one place that many hours, and it's slower too.

betchai- Sometimes things just get gray with nothing much of interest. But last night was certainly beautiful

rainfield- we had maximum humidity today and storms too. you can have all you want... please... take the humidity!

What a beautiful sky. Your pictures are spectacular.

When my desktop died about six months ago, I was so distressed. It was beyond repair...but it was so much faster than my laptop. Now, my laptop is on its last legs and I am really worried. I cannot buy another one and I don't know what I will do.

Carmen- it's easy when the sky cooperates, right? This expense puts my finances in the wrong direction again, just when I thought I was beginning to dig out of the hole. But I have to have one to earn money.
