Remember seeing the baby white pines? I love watching them grow and sigh big sighs over every one that doesn't make it. Here's how they looked a couple of days ago.
The five that are marked in the top picture aren't quite the same five in the winter view. One of the ones on the far left must be still hidden by the snow. But you can see one more on the far right that wasn't tall enough to poke its head above the summer grass.
More snow on the way!

I really get excited knowing baby trees are growing on our property. Not many babies yet but acorns have begun to get made!! :)
There's more snow on the way here too. We need to plant a new tree after losing one last year :-(
Can't wait to see them grow up strong and green :) They indeed look like a family.
How thrilling to witness trees grow from babyhood (sorry, don't know the correct term, lol). Thanks for sharing their progress with us. :)
The baby trees look nicer in the lower photo, but it's a friendlier day in the first one.
I adore trees and baby trees are just so precious. What a great contrast on these photos and I'm with Chuck, the baby trees in the lower photo are cuter :)
oh yes. i can see them.
The pines are resilient trees and I am sure they will emerge from the winter, stronger and taller than before.
The snow helps them come out into view much better than the grass does. I really like comparisons like this.
Julia- I transplanted all these from other places!
John- I really get attached to the ones I plant.
Vanilla- Yes, it will soon be a real grove there.
Ivy- babyhood works! They seem to go along for a few years without much growth, and then suddenly in one year they shoot up much larger.
Chuck- Are we longing for blue sky and green-ness?
Jo- Well, you can sure see them better without the tall grass.
Willie- thanks for stopping by! Glad you found the little ones.
Hi Green- They are pretty tough, even when they get bent under the snow, but the deer are really tough on them until they get a couple of feet tall.
Ratty- Yes, you kind of started me doing some of this sort of thing.
