Today was the annual ski and chili outing for our trail club at the Big M ski area. It was a perfect morning with a "salty" snow falling on the trees as I drove Campbell Road to Big M.
All together, 10 people showed up. Before lunch Ed (also went on the big hike this past spring) and I snowshoed the Corkpine Trail (about 1.2 miles). Most everyone else skied first, but a couple of people came just to enjoy the company. The wood stove warmed the building nicely after a really chilly start. Club VP Loren (of Four Dogs and a Friend) brought chili, crackers, brownies and hot chocolate! After eating and some chatting time, I took off on the Lumberjack Trail (1.6 miles) on skis. It was a great day! I didn't pull that muscle again at all; it was just a little tired, that's all.
Here we all are- We look like a bunch of old fogies. We would be happy to welcome younger participants, but it's interesting that the winter activities seem to be owned by the oldsters.

Looks like fun, wish I was closer love winter fun. Great looking group.
Sometimes I think we old fogies have more fun than most of the youngsters today, good company makes all the difference.
Looks and sounds like a great day.
The snow has been a fav subject lately :) The first picture is fabulous and the groups seems great!
I think old folks really do know how to have really healthy fun nowadays. And that does look like a great bunch of people that can have a wonderful time. Great picture.
Looks great to me--inspiring and something everyone should aspire to, regardless of age. As a contrast to your snowy views, here's where you can get the lily bulbs you saw photos of on my blog! http://www.johnscheepers.com/catview.cgi?_fn=Item&_recordnum=7644&_category=Lilies:Heirloom
Very hardy one that multiplies in just a few years--one of my favorites!
Sounds like you all had a great time. I'd love to try out winter activities, but I don't know how that's going to be possible without leaving the Philippines, lol
Skiing always looks like so much fun. One of these days I'm going to give it a try.
Auntie E- There must be some hiking club near you. It is a lot of fun to know that there will be some event every month with others of like mind.
Hi Duxbury- We sure know how to have fun with less tech toys!
Ann- good friends, food, trails- absolutely!
Vanilla- snow is always one of my favorites! I love all the seasons.
Hi Marg- This is pretty much the hardcore winter group! And a wood stove always gives great ambiance.
Karen- Hey, thanks for the info on the lily. I'm going to go look it up. I really like it.
Ivy- You and Marguerite will just have to come visit Michigan!
Ratty- Go for it! I just learned how about 6 or 7 years ago (which is why I'm not too great!)
