A Very Lazy Day

worn snowshoe lacingIt turned out to be a really lazy day for me. The most energetic thing I did was to blow out the driveway before 9 am. Then I checked the snowshoes, which I did work on last night before bed. The picture here shows why they need to be recoated every couple of years. You can really see that the polyurethane has worn off the edges and the nylon is starting to wear. So I added another coat this morning. But they won't be dry till tomorrow.

Then, our internet went down for a while, so I decided to get some muffins baked. I altered the recipe for Cranberry Pumpkin muffins so that it has a lot fewer calories and less fat.

Here is what the apple tree looks like today! And we have a blizzard warning for tonight and tomorrow.

After lunch, I realized that I was falling asleep at my desk, so I took a nap and woke up... after dark! I guess I WAS tired.

Wrote a little, worked on my blogs, watched some TV, going to bed. Sometimes I just run out of steam!

Well, it is good to know you are human! It seems to me you keep a hectic pace so you are certainly entitled to run out of steam on occasion! I sometimes take an afternoon nap and wake up, thinking I've slept clear through till the next morning!

I've been tired the last few days too. The harsh weather here just isn't very fun. The wind is blowing too hard for me to visit my usual trails for now, so I'm looking for other things to occupy my time. I always fall asleep whenever I'm home. For me it's become a bad habit, and I sleep longer if I'm home longer.

I have wanted to go snow shoeing for a long while. I used to go cross country skiing every winter when I lived closer to the snow but now it just does not happen. I keep saying "one of these days..."

We have a little bit of snow here now in Detroit, but the wind is cutting right through..

I enjoy reading your story At Your Library, but I can't find the voting button anywhere. I went back and forth, up and down, but no place to vote!

Wind blown snow predominates here (south of you) this morning. Looks like the stuff is falling sideways.

Hi JR- thank you

Carmen- I feel like I'm really lazy a whole lot of the time.

Ratty- Wake up! Hello. Are you there?

wenn- It is a nice place. I call it "my kingdom"

Julia- Get those kids on shoes when they are small. That's how I got started.

Icy- Sometimes you folks really get clobbered too, but I think west MI got the worst of this one. You have to register at the site to vote.

Chuck- It fell sideways and upways and downways, and lots.

Ann- If only the jobs ran out before the steam, right?

SueJean- It's such an easy and comfy thing to do! But I can't remember the last time I slept away an afternoon.
