Behold, the Lowly Dandelion
Behold, the lowly dandelion. I included a picture (flower not fully open) in case there is somewhere in the world that doesn't have the ubiquitous weed. Yet, I went out today and gathered a bag of blossoms. What do you think I'm going to do with them? Put your guess in the comments. No prize... just fun.

I should know this because I think you mentioned uses for dandelion before. Maybe you are going to make jelly?
I change my guess! It's not jelly, but it's close. I'm not going to say because it might be cheating. You revealed the answer somewhere else today, but I'll leave it to you to tell where. :)
We use to pick dandelion heads on St George's day 23 April to make wine. Why St George's day well he is our patron saint and we always got a day off school so we had to pick the flowers.
Carol.
I think you'll use half of them dipped in batter and fried and the other half as you mentioned elsewhere :-)
I hope you're going to publish a recipe.
You are going to join them one by one to form a necklace.
I like them dipped in batter and fried. Yummy! Your mileage may vary.
potpourri? a dandelion salad? i've never eaten these flowers, if they really are edible!
are they really edible? just curious based from those answers i read lol...
Oh now following you btw...
I'm going to guess some wine.
I'm believe you will make soup. Yum?
Dandelion wine?
To brew a tea Sharkie?
Hey! It's nice to have a lot of people enjoying this little guessing game.
Ratty- I actually forgot that I told what I was going to do in John's comments. I'm tickled that you saw it there.
Carol- My dad used to make wine, and I still have his recipe.
John- I will publish the recipe on Associated Content, but I'll put a link when I reveal the answer.
Rainfield- I have been known to do that in the past, but I was much younger then.
Chuck- Yeah, I'm not a fan of fried stuff, even fritters. And you will see from today's post that this is not where these are destined to end up.
Fortuitous Faery- How nice of you to stop by. I love Miss Igorata. They are edible, but the flowers can be bitter if not prepared in some way.
Rose- thanks! And yes, indeed, the dandelion is an amazing plant. All parts are edible in various ways.
Ann- Dad used to do that.
Mother Goose- Now that is something I have not previously tried.
Karen- a possibility, I have my dad's recipe.
Vanilla- tea would be easy, eh?
Tomorrow I will reveal all!
Well, I'm obviously to late here but was going to say use them in a salad.
Oh, I didn't get to see this before commenting on the top post. I guess you're not making tea, lol.
Jo- the leaves are good in salad if you get them before the plant blooms
Ivy- no problem!
My grandfather used to make wine out of dandelions but I don't know what part. I never understood why people get so wound up about dandelions in their yard. They're pretty! And compared to the nasty prickly bitey weeds we have in California, they're quite innocuous.
Hi Dennis- nasty prickly bitey weeds hurt the feet. The whole wine process took days and days as I recall. I liked the wine, but was too young to be allowed very much.
