We awoke to snow, and it actually hung around all day. It's supposed to be warmer next week again, but the first snow is always magical.
The first snow is always different from later ones, because the grass is still turgid. It doesn't want to give in to that white stuff and lie down just yet.
A few raspberry leaves are desperately trying to remind me that it's still fall.
The project to remove a grapevine that had nearly taken over the side of the house is on hold
And any day is a good day to carry a stick!

Burr!!! And to think how hot it was here today. I'd like some of that please!
Maggie looks cute in that day glow orange jacket too.
Great pics of your first snow!
We had sleet today in NW GA and could have more tonight. This is odd for November.
We had a few flurries but nothing that stuck in the afternoon. That first snow of the season does have a bit of a magical feel to it. Makes me feel like a bit of a kid again until, of course I have to shovel and then I'm reminded of how old I really am :)
Maggie has the right idea
Still raining here but we always say what ever your weather we get it later - hopefully a lot later :)
I do love snow, it's just not good for old bones.
Meg like Maggie loves any weather as long as she can play.
Ah, the old "vizsla in the tall grass wearing hunting vest" scene ... I remember it well!
Oh boy.. I'm not sure how to feel...I guess winter is coming early. Hopefully that means snow for us this December. My daughter is not thrilled about that. those snow days eat into our vacation plans.

The raspberry leaf looks great against the snow.
I'm hoping we'll get some snow here soon :-)
How beautiful to wake up to that scene. Where I live, snow is something we never see unless we trek up to Tahoe. That raspberry leaf shot is superb.
Julia- Think I can throw a snowball that far?
Jean- well we started with sleet yesterday.
Ann- I like to shovel, but, yeah, I can't do it as long as I used to.
Carol- interesting! My friends in NY state get what we do about a day later... odd that you do too.
Dennis- and I bet you are handsome in a vest! (Maggie)
Auntie E- have a vacation in the snow!
John- do you usually get very much?
Jo- I need snow to be complete! Not sure that just having it on a nearby mountain would work for me.
This is so awesome, I cannot wait to get up north and do some hiking and kayaking during Turkey time!
I love that your dog is being so safe during this hunting season! Too many owners do not take this time of year seriously.

Snow...ick. I'm not ready for that just yet.
I love that photo with Maggie in her red sweater! It's too cute!
