Christmas- the Last Blast

checking the sabre saw

What is Om doing? It's an annual event here, but it usually happens slightly later in the year. It's still January!
cut up Christmas Tree

Did you know? (Probably, if you've been a reader for the past year or more.) Surprisingly, there was one final blast of pungent, pine-y scent which lasted for an hour or more.

I don't know what he's doing, but he sure is making a MESS!

We still have our tree outside in the yard. I think we are going to have a bonfire come spring.

If I did celebrate Christmas, it is time now to keep the tree and be ready for Chinese New Year decoration.

I would say that tree has seen better days...lol We haven't had a real tree in several years and although I don't miss the mess I sure do miss the smell

We used to cut down our own tree, as soon after Thanksgiving as possible, and the freshness helped it last a bit longer that a tree bought at a lot. But all things must pass and no tree quite lasted through January. It was always a dry, pine needly mess!

Yeah, I have great memories of all that, but I'm grateful to now just unpack the artificial tree with the built in lights, looking pretty right away, and packing it back up in its box just as easily. It's still good. It's the Christmas Spirit that counts! :-)

Lin- he was adjusting the sabre saw, so he could cut the tree up, making it easier to get out of the house.

rainfield- I just read an article about celebrating your holiday. Have a happy one welcoming the Year of the Rabbit.

Ann- better days is for sure!

wiseacre- actually, this was one of the few trees we've had in recent years that didn't have a resident bird nest. Um... no, he's not make one of his own.

Ferd- Om loves his big, live tree. I just think it's a lot of work.

Such a job, the aftermath of Christmas can be. I was such a scrooge this year. I didn't do anything, in anticipation of the move and everything. It was nice that we went to my son's in West Sacramento on Christmas eve and to his in laws on Christmas day.
