One More Visitor

gray squirrel

Our internet connection is being funky today, so I'm going to do an easy post... just one other visitor at Ellen's. She's not so happy about feeding the squirrels along with the birds, but it happens. This is a plain old gray gray squirrel- not even a black one. They are cute, but can be real hogs at the wildlife feeders.

It's a shame that the squirrels have to be bigger and more aggressive at the feeder!!! I guess there's no way to rig up something that isn't accessible to them!

We have a problem with the grey squirrel as our native red is being pushed out, so a couple of years ago the slogan was save Tufty and eat a grey squirrel.
Tufty is the nickname of our red squirrel - we also had a Tufty club when we were kids - it was a giant red squirrel (one of our dads dressed up) teaching us road safety.
Forgot to say I have never knowingly eaten squirrel :)

As much as I enjoy watching the squirrels that clean out my feeder I can relate to not being happy about feeding them. I wouldn't mind so much if they wouldn't be such hogs about it.
