In the wildflower column, we saw Coltsfoot poking up in several places on the roadsides. Not a high-quality plant, but the yellow is cheerful. We also saw snowdrops blooming in a lawn.
The few miles off road around Leesville Lake were pretty with lots of topography but well-designed trail, so you could enjoy the hills and valleys without going up and down each one.
As we passed through Bowerston, I learned that the Genessee and Wyoming RR also owns Ohio Central. If you are long time readers, you know why I care- see New Owner, New Paint Scheme.
This picture says all that needs to be covered for the afternoon. Down and up- 4 times, but we didn't have too much trouble.
And on the last road walk, someone has stenciled on this rock, "This road is part of the Buckeye Trail." It also says something on the right, but we couldn't read that.
Best event with no picture: A school bus passed us going up one of the hills. A young teen boy opened the window and was yelling "HI" and waving to us as the bus went by. Made me smile all the rest of the way up the hill.
Tomorrow won't be anything like spring, but we are walking anyway.
