How Wet Are You Willing to Get?
We had to return Ellen's canoe today, and look who we talked into coming along with us! Yes, that's Om in the front of the canoe with Loretta
The beach looked a lot more summery today. It's the weekend. It's the first day of a heat wave for us.
Om said, "I'm willing to get this wet." A little baby wave did run over his feet. Let me explain something to you. It was 88 degrees. I suppose I should be happy that he is wearing shorts and not a jacket. I am really happy that he agreed to come.
I want you to know that I have no qualms about getting wet when it's 88 degrees. Lake Michigan was up to something in the 60s- very tolerable. Loretta went part way in. Can you find me?
Tomorrow is going to be a big day, and way too hot. I'm off to bed.

Om is CRAZY!! It's so darn hot, isn't it?? Ugh. I don't like air conditioning season--I can't hear my frogs singing me to sleep with it on. :(
I agree with Om, but maybe for different reasons. I'm too bad of a swimmer and much too big for anyone to be able to save in deep water. Gurgle gurgle.
Everyone looks "young" at the beach.
When I was thin as Om, and I used to be, I always felt cold.
My only hypothermia experience in my life was swimming in Lake Michigan, up in the Leelanau Peninsula, even though it was August. I'm lucky I didn't drown!
So I can understand Om's reluctance!
I can't see Loretta's face, but she looks a bit worried about how far out you have gone.
I miss the sea water.. its been a long time me and my kids havent been to a beach..
Seems all having fun
Is that your head I see out there in the top left hand corner of the picture?
We've been getting a lot of heat here and I've been taking advantage of the pool but I would jump in the lake if I had to
Lin- I sure think so, but he seems to be getting a fair amount of sympathy here.
Ratty- how do you cool off? Gosh- swimming is one of life's joys
rainfield- I wish! I chose not to share pix of me all wet
chuck- i'm wondering if it's partly his medication
Ferd- well- i'm glad you came through that ok
John- it only looks far, it was so shallow I really couldn't even swim- theres a big sand bar there
Silvergirl- I haven't had much ocean time- i kinda don't like how sticky the salt water leaves your skin. The Great Lakes are big water without the salt.
Ann- you got me! But it was very shallow even so.
What fun to see Om decked out in his shorts and hanging out with you guys! Your temperatures are too hot for me!
