The Badger Comes In

An everyday (literally) occurrence here in Ludington, at least during sailing season! Shot one- out on the horizon. I pulled it in with the telephoto.

Nearing the channel. By the time we finished our bike ride we could tell it was docking by the location of the smoke. It seems to move slowly out on the lake, but it's only an illusion of the distance. Once you have the houses and landmarks along the channel as reference points you can see how fast it goes, and it's actually slowed by the time it slips past the lighthouse.

I always wanted to cross the lake on that. And then I checked the price. On second thought . . .

I was thinking a different kind of badger when I read your title.

That would be a nice ride, I think...I miss being on a ship.
