...make grape juice!
Michelle from work has Concord grape vines! I gave her a jar of pickles and she gave me some grapes.
Actually, this is all the grapes I haven't used yet. The ones I used tonight were already in the sink to wash.
I made my easy juice recipe- the one that doesn't make a huge mess. You have to wait at least three months for the magic to work, but that's OK. You just put fruit, sweetener (I use stevia and a little sugar), and boiling water in a hot sterile jar.
Then process for ten minutes. (I've heard four of the seven seals pop down so far!) Here's how it looks now. Follow link at bottom for the recipe and a picture of what it looks like after several months.
And while we're on the topic of canning things, are you wondering how those zucchini pickles turned out? Well! They are to die for! I just picked a recipe that I thought was simple to try, and they are absolutely fantastic. They aren't crisp, but they are really dilly. Michelle agrees with me and even wanted to buy another jar, but I don't want to give any more up. I need another monster zucchini. Anybody still have one? the bigger the better.
I think I'm learning that Michelle and I have similar tastes in foods. And in case you couldn't guess, I'll be making another canner full of juice tomorrow.
