I Heard the Meadowlark

Easter Cactus full bloomI haven't seen one yet, but this morning I began to hear the meadowlarks calling in our field.

Meanwhile, as you can see, I was not patient enough with the Easter Cactus. It needed just one more day for the blossom to fully open.

And here are some "Blue Ice" crocus from the rock garden. I'm afraid the moles have finished off most of the bulbs, but for this week, we get some happy little flowers!

I like the little white ones. It almost looks like light is coming out of them.

The cactus is looking lovely. Did you know you can get salmon coloured ones too?

HI Ratty- To tell you the truth I'm not big on pink and frilly, but I'm always fascinated by flowers, and it was a gift. Yes, the sun was on the crocus, but they are such a pure white (lots of white flowers are rather creamy) that they really glow.

Solomon- nope, I didn't know that. I'm not a big fan of pink or salmon, so I probably won't rush out to find one, but it will be a novelty to find one. Thanks for the info. They probably aren't that color naturally- do you know?

Beautiful flowers they are. They are pleasures to the eyes. Great photography you've done. Thanks for the photos. God bless.

Hi Mel- Thanks for stopping by. The wonders of creation sure are varied and lovely!

your first shot is really so artistically captured, i like how you took it showing the folding and bending of the petals, it is like a pink lady swiftly and graciously making her turns as she completes her dance.

oh, i love pink, that is my favorite color :) , next is blue, but for flowers, i think i am more fascinated in seeing blue than pink. maybe because i see less blue flowers.

i see a lot more blue ice bulbs, maybe in a few more days, you will have more.

Hi betchai- thank you! You made me like the flower better with your description. I like blue better too. It was hard to capture blue flowers on film. We will see how well the new digital does with blue.
