Nice Sunrise

sunrise

On these midwinter days I'm often actually up when the sun comes up. Of course, the cloud cover usually makes it impossible to see the sun. But today I got a "hot" picture, which belies the -10 degree wind chill.

That's all for today. Maggie and took a short walk in the deepening snow. I have to go clear the driveway before I sleep. I forgot last night, and Om did get out, but I can't ignore it again!

You got a great picture of the sunrise. I see them sometimes, but I'm never in a place where I can get a picture. There's always something in the way.

It's so beautiful. It reminds me of Vermont because you can see the cold in the air. There is an indescribable beauty about winter. Thanks for sharing.

beautiful picture of the sunrise. I'm always up before the sun comes up but usually I'm already at work so I don't get to see it until lunch time.
We've been shoveling so much snow here that I'm very sick of it already. How long till spring?

I guess you're right about sometimes having overcast days for sunrise...but I have better luck with sunsets, although with this deep cold, they haven't been too special lately.

Beautiful mixture between warmness of sunrise and coolness of the snow.

Ratty- That is sure one of the worst things about living in a more populated area. You'll have to find a special sunrise place. Of course you probably have to go to work... those might not be compatible activities!

Icy- It was very bright anyway, but the camera recorded it as a "burn."

Hi Mountain Woman! Yes, I think it looks both cold and hot too.

Leigh- Even I enjoy seeing them on these usually cloudy winter days.

rainfield- yes, morning always means we have been given one more day!

Dennis- Don't be fooled by some "hot" picture mom took. It was cold. Maggie

Ann... uh... I hate to tell you, but I think winter just started!

Karen- "sometimes?" Where do you live. We have almost constant overcast in the winter. Friends seriously have S.A.D.

Vanilla- I think I should have taken time to change the ISO and get a series- from more realistic to this one.
