Where's the Color?

You may be wondering why I haven't been bringing you glorious pictures of autumn colors this year. Answer- because we haven't really had much color.

But thanks to some late afternoon sun I can finally present a couple of nice pictures. The first is the street on the way to bell choir practice.

The second is the white birch beside my house. You can easily tell that's mostly an alpenglow effect, since the white pine (which is green) behind it is golden too.

We'll see what happens this next week, or if we are just going to go immediately to brown November.

Others have reported the lack of color up your way. Down here color is developing more slowly that usual. However there is some visible.

The color here has really started popping the last couple days.
