An Evening with Betty
I haven't been able to spend hardly any time with my good friend Betty for at least a year and a half. She was one of the first people I met when we moved here 42 years ago. She's had a sad year (near end of linked post if you want to know), but is starting to want to do things again.
She didn't want me to take her picture, but agreed that her hands were ok. And that was what we were using- our hands. She is knitting a blanket.
I'm working on Loretta's green shawl. It's the next project up on my list, and I had barely made a beginning, but got a good bit done tonight. It's going to work up quite fast, which is great!
It was a cold and damp day- felt more like December than April. Maggie and I walked out back, but didn't see anything more interesting than the handcrafts. Besides, it was really nice to visit with Betty... it's been a long time.

Good to hear that your friend Betty is feeling like doing things again. I'm sure that life is much different for her now. Knitting is one thing I never could get the hang of. I like the shade of green you're using in that shawl.
Seeing knitting is another thing that gives me comfort. I always feel at home when I see something being made. I have never done it myself, but so many people in my family have.
I'm so glad you had a visit with Betty. I know it did her a world of good - and it was probably very nice for you, as well. I know what a lift seeing my friend, Atul, was for me this weekend.
The green shawl is just beautiful.
