Out doing assignments today. I got to drive one of my very favorite roads. It's called Little Manistee River Drive. Probably not too hard to guess that it parallels the Little Manistee River for a short distance. It's a bit wider than one lane, but if you meet someone one of the cars has to pull partly off into the woods. It's curvy, with lots of trees.
There are a couple of places to park where you can get down to see the river. Here is the upstream view
And downstream. It was looking very appealing today.
I found a tree root that has weathered like driftwood. I like the curves and smooth hollows.
I'm not sure this is going to be a super-dooper color year, but some trees are looking nice. Here's a sassafras that has passed the bright yellow stage, but it's still very pretty.

I wouldn't mind having to pull off to the side so long as there isn't any kind of steep drop off or ditch there. Nice view of the river.
Some lovely photos.
Ann- there are lots of places to pull over
Carol- it's a lovely place!
Fall still has to rank right up there as the most beautiful season; and still, winter is going to follow.
