The Local Deer Herd

Out on the snowshoes today in a biting wind, and I was looking for something interesting for this blog. Passed some rabbit tracks. Ho hum, passed some squirrel tracks. That was more interesting to me because we don't seem to have any squirrels that come up close to the house, but they are occasionally back by the railroad, and that's where these were. Lots of deer tracks. Super ho hum. Some nice crow tracks. Still pretty ho hum.

Well, what I settled on for today... the leavers of the super ho hum tracks. But here it is, our little private deer herd. They are barely daunted by Maggie. They ran just to the other side of the railroad and stopped to check us out.

I always like a good deer sighting. We seem to have plenty of them around here right now.
