Plan B

I have switched to plan B. There's always a plan B, right? I think what most of you did not know is that I planned this to be a peronal challenge hike. I wanted to do 10 days in a row of 15 mile days. That's just not going to happen. I am not in good enough shape to do that on hills in heat and humidity, with so much weight in the pack. This trail is known for being dry and I am carrying a full day's water.

So, Marilyn is graciously moving my car and I'm slowing down to a more reasonable pace and am just going to have fun. Yesteray I did 10.5 miles and it felt awful. You know I shuoldn't have had that much troube with 10 miles. I'm not exactly a novice! Anyway, today I did 10 and am at a lovely hilltop campsite.

the highlight of the day was unch at Oxbow Creek. It was cooler there and the rocks were neat.

Found 2 nifty feathers. Red tail hawk, and I think the black and white one might be a magpie.

Thiswas dinner.

Everything is cool. Well, coolER now. It was 86 this afternoon. Not my ideal temperature range. Signing off from the Knobstone Trail for today.

Sometimes we make plan B on the spur of the moment, when the need arises. And sometimes the alternate plan is more fun than the original one. Have fun, let the joy of the hike rule!

Always have a plan B. Good to be flexible. Enjoy and be proud of yourself.

Sometimes you just have to move on to plan B. Better that the hike be an enjoyable one too.

It's good to see that you're having fun. Please keep it that way.
