Buttermilk Falls

Buttermilk Falls

I'm back... off and running to the next commitment, but I'll have lots to share! Before Marie and I began hiking, I spent a day with my friend Elaine. One of her favorite places to visit is Buttermilk Falls in Ithaca, NY. You can see how it gets its name!

But wait, that was only the bottom of the falls. If you get in a better position to look up the creek you can see how tall it is.

Buttermilk Falls

You can see how happy Elaine was to have a chance to visit one of her favorite places!

Hope to get back up to speed with some more posts before I head back out for hiking. There is lots to share! You can see a few pictures at Young Completes NY- 300 Miles to Go

I can see that you got to visit some great places while you were gone. Waterfalls are some of my favorite things. That first picture is just absolutely beautiful.

Love to see waterfalls, we don't have them here. Thanks for sharing.

That first picture reminds me of a spot near Watkins Glenn. My husband and I stopped to take a picture. Such a beautiful area

Ratty- the late afternoon sun was great. I have two others that are possibly better pictures, but don't show the falls as well. It was a magical day.

Glynis- No waterfalls? How sad! More to come...

Ann- this is only about 20 miles from Watkins Glen, in Ithaca. Of course, there are many, many falls in the area. Hector Falls is similar but not so slanted or so high.

Jo- It's a falls that many people love but take for granted because it can be easily accessed from a main highway.

Dennis- It's fun that you know a lot of these places that are also special to me.
