The first part of the exhibit was a laboratory. Unfortunately, they didn't have hardly anything in there to see- a lab bench and a microscope. They could have done a lot more with that part. But the interpretive sign says, "Journey through the process of developing new plants. Start in the lab where genetics are selected." It talks about visiting the greenhouse (if there was one, I missed it.)
Then the plants are sent to trail gardens.
And finally, they are made available to gardeners to purchase for their own landscapes. The display garden was stuffed with interesting plants. They had 91 species labeled.
This exhibit won three major awards. These are not the same kinds of awards as are given to competitors in the Standard Flower Show, but the other exhibits are also judged by various entities. I think they probably won because of the diversity of plant material and the artistic arrangement of the garden.
In other news, it was warm but super windy, and I declined to go for a walk. However, a piece of fascia on the roof blew loose. It was banging like a kid beating on a tin can! I had to climb up and nail it back in place. It was so windy, I had Om come outside and watch while I was up there, just in case. I crab walked instead of standing up!
I did work on editing and a few of my pet projects.
Under the heading of bad news, some critter has eaten off all the crocuses that came up. Hmmm. Guess I need to get the fencing back up ASAP.

Oh no on the crocuses. Something is getting an early start on their garden eating.
You're brave getting up on the roof to take care of the fascia. If it was like it was here, that wind was pretty strong.
Ann- fences this week!
