Sylvia often goes places with her family while I stay home. People ask, "Where's your wife?" I reply, "She left me. But she'll come back. She always has."

If they ask why she goes without me, I say: "Because I love her I let go whenever she wants. Because she loves me, she doesn't take me with her."

What a great accomplishment. W was a girl scout leader for a few years and loved walking and hiking. Haven't really done any serious hiking for a long time. I still enjoy walking. Very nice video. One more thing I wish to add, Congrats on your 43 years of marriage!

The video is great. It's good to be able to see you talk about your long hike. It helps all of your fans, like me, feel a little bit more a part of your huge accomplishment.

Joan, I was almost in tears watching this! The first woman, that is really so exciting..and over four thousand miles is an incredible accomplishment. Even with your breaks in between for raising your son, you stuck with it and made it happen. It was so nice to hear you describe it and to have you present your husband.
Congratulations!!! May you many more wonderful miles ahead of you.
