Lone Star Quilt

When I realized what today is I just HAD to show you the other quilt I found yesterday. It was one that Granny thought she had done a particularly good job on, and she used it on her bed most of the final years she was able to live on her own.

If you had known my Granny, you would realize how remarkable that is, because there is not one bit of red in this quilt. As far as she was concerned there was really one color worth discussing, and that was red. So, she must have been really proud of this one.

It's the Lone Star design.

And, if she, Emily Fisher Rowe, were alive, she would turn 132 today!

It's a good day to show you this quilt.

Oh, I love quilts ~ and this is a beauty!

I have some quilt tops handed down to me through the generations, because I used to piece and quilt. I really need to pull them out and finish them up. :)

My eyes tell me "no red." Yet, it "feels" red. Love those earth tones. Beautiful work on display.
