Mesabi Hike - Ely to Madden Creek

What we really wanted to do was hike the entire remaining 22 miles all in one day, but there was no way that was happening. Marie's leg was pretty much all better, and mine was a lot better. We were still icing it all the time I wasn't walking on it, and that was doing the trick.

There was also the issue of enough sleep. If you've read North Country Cache you already know that encounters with people in group campsites on weekends led to problems with alarming (I think) frequency. We added yet another to our collection. Some time during the night the people in the tent just below us (the campground was on a hillside) started yelling at each other and starting up their truck and yelling and... We really are tired of this. Marie was so mad she tried to get us a refund, since their behavior was clearly against the rules.

We did enjoy the dirt roads instead of pavement, and the rocky outcrops demonstrate how near the surface the bedrock lies.
