The flamingo series began as a joke, and it continues as such. However, this entry has a bit of a personal history. I'm attempting to sell off the tons of family stuff that has funneled down to me, on eBay. This scarf belonged to my grandmother. She loved to travel, and this was purchased on a trip to Florida around 1950.
While I was preparing to take pictures for the listing Vintage Florida Souvenir Silk Scarf, I realized... there they were... yet two more flamingos. How could I not add them to the collection here before I (hopefully) say goodbye to this item which has no sentimental value to me, and clear out three square inches of space.
Do you know how much work it is to clear out the accumulated stuff of three or four people's lifetimes? Actually, I'm sure some of you do. I'm getting things listed very slowly, but maybe I'm making a dent.

Yes, clearing out stuff takes forever! Especially when you've already got rid of the junk and what's left should go someplace where it can be used - but where!?
I am just starting the process with my mom's house, Joan. This weekend I go back for the attic and basement. Not sure how far we'll get, but it must be done by end of August. ;o(
It's hard enough cleaning out the stuff accumulated by just me over the years I can't imagine having to try and go through the what 3 or 4 people could collect.
That scarf should go quick. Vintage anything is very popular.
Memories fly away. On wings.
It looks like Florida. My Tampa friend has an enormous flamingo collection.
