Dreaming of a Cold Diet Coke

It hit 87 degrees today, and that in the forest shade. I'll admit I'm not doing well with these temperatures. But tonight I'm in a beautiful hilltop campsite with a little breeze. There might be views but too many trees.

Here's another picture because I want you to appreciate how pefect that food cache is hung. When a site provides a good tree, it's a lot easier!

I GUESS I don't have enough connection to add more pix. I was going to remind you that this is a very dry trail. Many people stash water at road crossings and trailheads. Some is marked for specific people and some is marked FREE. So far, Ive found enough pools in the creeks to filter. But I'm dreaming of that cold drink on Sunday.

Sorry, can't get other pix on tonight. All is well. I had dirty rice and beans for dinner.

That looks like a good spot. It's one thing to keep hydrated but there's nothing like an ice cold drink to hit the spot.

Lulu: "Our Dada is impressed at how far you're getting with these hikes in that kind of weather. He says at 87 degrees, regardless of the shade, he would be done in an hour, especially with the humidity!"
