Two More Ridges - Day 63

Two more ridges and a road walk. The day started out chilly. About 19 degrees, but before the day was done the temperature rose to 52 degrees!

You can see it was still frosty as we crossed Pike Lake Dam. Pike Lake Dam

On Mitchell Ridge, we found some stone outcroppings. I love pictures like this one! hiker on a rock

Denali wasn't so sure about the edge. (P.S.- it wasn't nearly as sheer as the above picture looks) hiker on a rock

We walked a little farther and could see the whole rock face. rock outcropping

There were more creeks to cross, but we found good stepping stones at all of them. No plastic bags needed. hiker crossing a creek

On Robinett Ridge, we saw this high stone cap with ice waterfalls. rock outcropping

It is sandstone! That's a change. So far everything we've seen has been the two kinds of dolomite or shale. Most of SE Ohio is sandstone- visual proof that we are making steady progress. rock outcropping

Even with two ridges we felt good; I'm sure the warm weather contributed! We jumped ahead and finished the roadwalk we started the other day.

Miles today: 15.8. Total miles so far: 881.1
