And there it goes... down to Fall Lake and in 2000 more miles on to Hudson Bay.
Then we went back to the Harvest Moon Festival in Ely. Our campground neighbor was one of the vendors and we made friends. She sells wooden plaques and pebble art under the name Mr. G's Legacy in honor of her father. Her name is Angie Strobel.
We also found someone else we know! Scott Tichy was there. Remember him? He's the Corps of Engineers NCT person at Baldhill Dam in North Dakota. I walked while he mowed one day.
What was he doing there? He makes gorgeous laminated, bent-shaft canoe paddles. His business name is Sheyenne Paddle Company. I sure did not know that about Scott!
Then we helped support the local Kiwanis by buying pork BBQ sandwiches and Dorothy Molter's Root Beer for lunch. Excellent choice. The blueberry pie yesterday also supported Kiwanis. I wonder how many pies they had to make to cover the 3-day show.
After that, we hit the road and drove all afternoon. We are settled in at our new "home," once again with generous trail people.

I like the falls.
Those sandwiches look delicious.
Lulu: "2000 miles! That's quite a ways!"
Ann- they were- not pulled pork, but slices layered in BBQ sauce and the buns were good too.
Lulu- It IS a long way and I checked the info again. That is what the interpretive sign says. That must be twisty river miles. It's about 600 miles as the crow flies to Hudson Bay, but we know the crow is smarter than the river.
