Cared For - Day 12

Look who came to spend the day with me today! Monica and Keira. Here we are entering Middleville State Game Area. hikers by North Country Trail Sign

They actually arrived last night and we had time to just have some fun together. Yes, all three of us slept in Sunny and it didn't even seem crowded. people in a small travel trailer

This morning, Al met us and spotted us to hike back to Monica's car. Al is a friend from a long-time back, who is also a trail friend as he now likes to hike. people standing by a truck

The morning was a lot of road walk with a very cold wind. We were highly focused on staying moving and thinking about better weather and trail in the afternoon. However, a man named Richard was watching for me and wanted to say hello and take pictures. hikers

Sure enough, the sun finally came out and began to warm things up. Soon we were on 108th St heading into the State Game Area and although road walk, it was a lot more interesting. The afternoon temperature was mild and the cold wind died down. hikers

Another turn on Garbow Road and pleasant walking. Soon we were on woods trail for most of the rest of the day. Lots of other hikers were taking advantage of the nice day too. wooded road with walkers

After we hiked, they took me out to dinner.

Monica is a physical therepist, and she is making sure I'm taking care of my leg so that I can continue on this quest without doing damage. I am certainly not used to this level of care. I resent the time the exercises take, but I'm trying to be good. They really do seem to be helping the leg, and it's nice to be cared for.

Miles today: 15.5. Total miles so far: 169.

That's good news that you have a physical therapist hiking buddy. It's amazing what a little exercise can do to help an issue.
