We did manage to make it by car to the end of Red Road. Sue made sure we were good to go, but then, bye-bye!
The sun tried hard to break through the clouds, succeeding occasionally.
Sure, it was a road walk, but that doesn't mean it was ugly. Since it's also opening day of gun deer season here, I thought a road walk was a perfect choice.
Clark Creek was gorgeous. This is a fairly large stream that flows into the Dead River Basin.
The symmetry of the pine woods is mesmerizing.
I walked today with the new microspikes. Well, I sure didn't slip, but they are really uncomfortable to walk on. It's like being on gravel all day. The road is dirt and not plowed, but it had been driven enough that the snow was compacted and slippery, so I tried them out.
Miles today 10.0. Total miles so far: 4068.6

The views are picturesque.
Lulu: "This must be what that song means about 'walking in a winter wonderland' ..."
Ann- really nice for a roadwalk
Lulu- Annabelle really likes to play in the snow. You might too.
