Lots of Snow - Day 395

We did all road walk today, but an awful lot of it was either rutted snow and ice covered or muddy slop. I used cleats- not the heavy duty ones that hurt my feet, but some less violent ones, and they worked well. It was walkable, but a bit rugged.

I had three hiking companions- Bob, Bill, and Doug. We talked about a lot of trail stuff.

Bob walked in a ways on the next off-road section thinking we might be able to add a mile of trail to get through to the next road. The snow was rotten and he said he was postholing deeper than his knees. The snowpack just seems to be hanging around a long time this spring. We have another road piece we will do tomorrow. We may or may not be able to hike Wednesday- thunderstorms predicted, but they may be done before noon. I suspect I'll be moving even farther south to try to find trail. This is a bit crazy and awfully slow.

Miles today: 6.1. Total miles so far: 4423.1
