All roads today, and most of them clear of ice and mud. We did have a one good hill, and some smaller ones. The road here was clear, although the utility ROW is not. There is still an awful lot of snow in the woods.
We stopped at a Comfort Suite for lunch. Don't tell me you aren't impressed. A random picnic table at the right time on a hiking day is worth an awful lot, especially when it's difficult to find anywhere dry to sit!
We enjoyed some decent wildlife. Two toms and seven or eight hens were lots more interested in springtime topics than getting out of our way. The other male gave a beautiful display, but I was already at a wrong angle to get a good picture. I hope the ladies appreciated it.
A flash of yellow-orange crossed the road ahead of us. A female oriole? Nope. I managed to catch one pretty decent picture. It's an evening grosbeak.
A most interesting sight was a herd of yaks. These are on a farm. Still, I don't think I've encountered yaks on the trail before! (although this is a roadwalk, it's a different road than when I passed through here before) There is a warning sign about getting too close. I did not get any pictures of yak tracks of any variety.
And, yes, we hiked 11.4 miles today! We were both pretty tired, but we did it!

Congratulations on your double digit mileage! Glad you found some relatively clear surfaces for hiking. It will be interesting when you start connect all these road walks!

Hooray! Getting some good miles under your belt. That's encouraging.
Love the wildlife sightings too. We have turkeys in the pasture behind us. Saw a rafter of about 40 of them. The toms are lovely!! We are a little worried for them as a) its almost hunting season and b) the coyotes are awfully close these days.
