We went to the home of Marie's friend, Ellen, today.
She had some beautiful begonias in planters.
We ate lunch and then she wanted us to help her finish a jigsaw puzzle because she said she was having trouble with it.
Marie and I do a lot of puzzles. Our first, middle, and final comments were that there were a whole bunch of pieces missing from what was a brand new puzzle. It became a challenge to try to figure out where the pieces we did have were supposed to go. We would then take a picture and send it to the company.
When we started working on it, Ellen's son said, "They're probably all there, you just are being fooled." Right. Have I mentioned that Marie and I do a lot of puzzles?
Anyway, here's the status of the puzzle after we had put in or arranged all the pieces we had.
Then Ellen started to pick up some trays she uses to sort pieces. Ha! There were three more piles of pieces.
By then, we knew every missing piece by heart, and we had the whole thing finished in a flash.
Ellen was embarrassed, but I thought it was hilarious. The exact same thing happened with a puzzle I tried to finish at the home of one of my hosts on the big hike! We sure had fun.
In the evening we went to a Veteran's dinner- just a social gathering- with Ed.

Sounds like a fun day. Good job on the puzzle. Too funny about the pieces.
Cool trick, hiding some of the pieces to frustrate your friends.
