Irene and I went for a short walk today at a local park. We found this ash tree covered with woody galls. I'm not sure if it's crown gall or not. They usually form nearer the base of the tree, but some pages say that they can be found higher up, particularly in the lower branches. These are hard and irregular. If it's crown gall, it's caused by a soil bacteria The park was lovely. Abby was glad to get out for a walk.
